Everyday is Summer When I'm with You

What you don't realize is that, despite looking like a complete fool in front of you, I really am a good person.
You don't know that I've been practising my smile in the mirror before seeing you.
What you don't know is that it's taken me hours to remember the words to your favorite poem.
You don't know how much I want to please you and make you smile.
I've been trying on end to sound smart and in control, but when I see you the rest disappears.
When I see you, my words crumple.
When I see you, I falter.
When I see you, my mind goes blank and I start saying nonsense.
So don't judge me, because when I'm with you, I lose sense of myself
I lose balance, and I fall deeper and deeper into you.
